Danny punches above his weight

It was Oscars night and the last four men and two women took to the ice to dance to film scores.
A half naked Danny Young started first with a knockout routine to Rocky leaving judge Jason blushing. Emma Bunton said: “You were like a different person this week and for me you’re now a contender.’
Daniella and partner Matt seemed to lack confidence this week after being in last week’s skate-off.
Criticised for being too down on herself Robin Cousins told her she looked like she was thinking too much about the footwork more than the performance she’d had.
Hopefully she can find the strength and time to make it happen. It’s a horrible feeling when you can get this far and the end is within reach but with no guarantees.
Mikey skated to Ronan Keating When You Say Nothing At All, the ice was kinder after last week, giving him and Mel a total score of 19. He was happy but was berated by the judges.
The skate-off saw Daniella fighting to get through again and in a very narrow escape, Mikey lost out.
Gary Lucy and Maria came out fully pumped and rearing to hit the ice ‘smokin’ to Pulp Fiction’s ‘You Never Can Tell.’
Great coverage, speed and a strong improvement from last week as a skater but a little stumble on his required element didn’t do him any favours. It sparked a major row between judges Nicky and Jason over the differences in scoring. Jason had the last word, yelling “It’s becoming dull…DULL! DULL! DULL!”
Kieron and Brianne came out skating to The Pink Panther theme. Slinky and loaded with little tricks and moments they got into character right off.
He attacked it like a pit bull compared with two weeks ago and is really using character in the routines now.
Hayley and Dan saved the best till last. Skating to the Slumdog Millionaire theme, they executed the performance of the series so far - by a mile. Original, articulate and mesmerising in every way.
Hayley managed four spins for her required element and went on to wow viewers with a magnificent performance.
With a line of straight sixes and a standing ovation from everyone (including the judges) it was no wonder she had a tears in her eyes. “Thank you so much. That was just the best time of my life,” she said, “That was unbelievable.”
Jason declared: ‘From the minute you stepped out onto that ice I just knew it was going to be electrifying… I want to thank you for coming out there and giving us one of the best performances we have ever seen on this show.”
Christopher Dean was left practically speechless – and that says it all.
