Fern Britton looked thrilled showing off her svelte new figure at the Woman of the Year Awards in London.

The This Morning presenter, 51, shed five stone after having a gastric band operation – and she couldn’t look better.

Fern glammed up in a black shift dress, cinched in at the waist with a thick belt, and brightened up with maroon tights. 

The presenter caused controversy earlier this year when it emerged she had had the op – despite saying she had lost the weight through diet and exercise. 

But it looked like she had put her worries behind her as she posed for photographers.

A source says: ‘Fern looks better than ever and she is clearly thrilled with her new shape.’
